From 16 to 19 July 2025, Gurten, Bern's local mountain, will once again be transformed into a vibrant hotspot for the music scene. The Gurtenfestival, one of the most popular open-air festivals in Switzerland, attracts visitors with a diverse line-up, a unique atmosphere and a breathtaking view over the federal capital.
From small beginnings to cult event
What began in 1977 as a modest folk and culture festival has developed into a firm highlight in the Swiss festival calendar since the 1990s. Year after year, thousands gather on the idyllic mountain plateau to experience rock, pop, hip-hop, indie and more in the open air. With three stages - including the legendary tent stage and the mystical forest stage - the festival offers an intimate, almost family atmosphere that sets it apart from other major events.

The Gutiérrez brothers from Switzerland bring a cinematic guitar sound to the main stage. Their music sounds like a road trip through the desert - full of Latin rhythms, surf rock and Americana. After successes at Coachella and in the Tiny Desk Concert series, they are now enchanting the Bernese audience with their hypnotic melodies.

Franz Bibiza, the Viennese enfant terrible, mixes punk, pop, rap and pop songs into a wild cocktail. With his band, he brings Viennese humour and danceable melancholy to the stage - perfect for anyone who loves music somewhere between Falco and Yung Hurn.

Latin Grammy winner Nathy Peluso is back - with her new album GRASA, a mixture of salsa, hip-hop and modern R&B. After her breakthrough with Calambre, she once again proves why she is one of the most exciting voices on the scene.
